The Volkswagen lineup is fresher than ever, with every VW nameplate receiving significant updates within the last two model years. Here's a quick look at what's in store for Volkswagen's roster in 2025.
The VW Atlas family saw major enhancements for the 2024 model year. A midcycle refresh gave introduced more refined styling and upgraded performance from a new 2.0-liter TSI® four-cylinder engine (269 horsepower, 273 pound-feet of torque). It also greatly expanded the base trim level, adding premium standard features like heated and ventilated front seats, V-Tex upholstery, three-zone automatic climate control, a 12-inch touchscreen, and a 10.25-inch Digital Cockpit Pro instrument panel.
After such significant upgrades in 2024, the two-row VW Atlas Cross Sport and three-row VW Atlas see only minor changes heading into 2025. Both models get improved wireless charging and Light Assist automatic high beams as standard equipment. Additionally, colors previously exclusive to the Atlas Peak Edition are now available for both models, including Mountain Lake Blue and Avocado Green. Elsewhere, the top-tier SEL Premium R-Line trim gets a few luxe upgrades, including headrest perforation, four-way lumbar support, and front-seat massage.
The VW ID.4 also received appreciable improvements for 2024, including increased range (up to an EPA-estimated 291 miles in the ID.4 Pro RWD) and a more powerful rear motor that increases performance to 282 horsepower in rear-wheel-drive models and 335 horsepower with all-wheel drive.
Changes for the 2025 model year are comparatively minor. However, models with 62-kWh battery now have the upgraded 12.9-inch touchscreen with backlit sliders that debuted for 77-kWh models last year. Ventilated front seats are now standard for the 62-kWh S trim, and a new Black Package is available for S and S Plus models, adding dark-themed style details and 20-inch black alloy wheels.
The iconic Volkswagen Microbus has returned in all-electric form, reimagined for the modern era. Available in RWD and 4MOTION® AWD variants, the all-new VW ID.Buzz offers roomy accommodations for up to seven passengers, generous cargo capacity, cutting-edge technology, and a standard 91-kWh battery. More details will be announced closer to the model's Q4 launch.
The VW Jetta and its sport-tuned GLI variant get a light refresh for 2025, including bolder styling, more refined accommodations, and expanded color options. The VW Jetta also makes several desirable amenities more accessible at lower trim levels, including an 8-inch touchscreen, wireless Apple CarPlay/Android Auto, wireless charging, and more.
The Volkswagen brand's iconic hot hatchback family is set to receive a facelift for the 2025 model year, including more aggressive styling, upgraded features, and an additional 13 horsepower for the high-performance Golf R. More details will be revealed closer to the launch date in early 2025.
Volkswagen's smallest SUV is scheduled to receive a major refresh for the upcoming model year. The reveal of the 2025 VW Taos is planned for late Q3 2024.
Volkswagen's top-selling model will be fully redesigned for the 2025 model year. Details for the third-generation VW Tiguan, including reveal timing, will be shared later this year.
