After last year's refresh brought updated styling, increased performance, and additional features, the VW Jetta rolls into the 2023 model with minimal alterations. SE models now include a remote start feature, and the USB ports have more power for faster charging.
Performance
Under the hood, a 1.5-liter turbo-four engine moves the VW Jetta with 158 horsepower and 184 pound-feet of torque. A six-speed manual transmission is standard for S and Sport trims, or you can select an eight-speed automatic transmission as an option for those trims and standard in higher tiers.
Accommodations
The VW Jetta is comfortable and roomy, with attractive cabin details, quality materials, and ample headroom and legroom for passengers in either row. The seats are nicely cushioned and bolstered and offer various enhancements, including V-Tex leatherette or leather upholstery, heated and ventilated front seats, and heated rear outboard seats.
The Jetta delivers impressive practicality for a compact sedan thanks to a large trunk with 14.1 cubic feet and 60/40-split rear seats that fold for even more carrying capacity. It also has numerous convenient small-item storage options, including cubbies, trays, large door pockets, and sizable cupholders.
